Formic Acid Ionization and Fragmentation by Multiphoton Absorption

چکیده
Multiphoton absorption is an intensity dependent nonlinear effect related to the excitation of virtual intermediate states. In present work, multiphoton ionization and dissociation formic acid molecule (HCOOH) by interaction with photons from 532 Nd: YAG laser at different intensities are discussed, using carrier gases. The induced fragmentation-ionization patterns show up 17 fragments channels proposed. Some evidence small clusters formation conformational memory ratio detected products, CO+ CO2+, on light available results, it possible conclude that they arise trans cis acid. Our results compared those obtained in other laboratories under experimental conditions, some them only partial agreement differences discussed. Following Keldysh description possible, our parameters, characterize regime.

‘ST Scientific results are summarized from a three year research program on multiphoton ionization in aromatic molecules, clusters, and their ions. As originally proposed, the studies elucida+ a new cluster ionization mechanism, characterized properties of long range intermolecular interactions. and investigated electronic transitions of aromatic cations cooled in a supersonic beam. The studies...
متن کاملDissociative multiphoton ionization of NO2 studied by time-resolved imaging.
We have studied dissociative multiphoton ionization of NO2 by time-resolved velocity map imaging in a two-color pump-probe experiment using the 400 and 266 nm harmonics of a regeneratively amplified titanium-sapphire laser. We observe that most of the ion signal appears as NO+ with approximately 0.28 eV peak kinetic energy. Approximately 600 fs period oscillations indicative of wave packet moti...

Molecular weight distributions of fulvic acid from the Suwannee River, Georgia, were investigated by electrospray ionization/quadrupole mass spectrometry (ESI/ QMS), and fragmentation pathways of specific fulvic acid masses were investigated by electrospray ionization/ion trap multistage tandem mass spectrometry (ESI/MST/ MS). ESI/QMS studies of the free acid form of low molecular weight poly(c...
متن کاملFemtosecond laser nanomachining initiated by ultraviolet multiphoton ionization.
We report on the experimental results of 300 nm features generated on fused silica using a near-infrared (IR) femtosecond laser pulse initiated by an ultraviolet (UV) pulse. With both pulses at a short (~60 fs) delay, the damage threshold of the UV pulse is only 10% of its normal value. Considerable reduction of UV damage threshold is observed when two pulses are at ± 1.3 ps delay. The damage f...
